Kate's Overalls

I finished Kate's Halloween overalls, and they turned out SO cute!!! The overalls are hand me downs, I had most of the fabric, and the halloween fabric was 75% off. So I paid like $1 for these!!!! As you can see from the backside picture, I am thinking she will be able to wear them next year.

She LOVES THEM!!! She also loves wearing and showing off her new black patent mary janes! (Stride Rite... ebay.. $7!!!) She's such a girly girl!

The Beach -- The Finale

A cold front came through Thursday, so it was a little chilly on Friday. Grandpa had this contraption rigged to get shells from in the water. He would dump them on the sand and then Eddie would comb through them getting a ton of cool shells.

Eddie was really interested in the different types of shells. He learned a lot from Grandpa. I assured them both that we didn't need that many shells (since we still have bags from past years...) but we ended up bringing home 3 trash bags worth of shells. What in the WORLD am I going to do with that many shells?!

Eddie got this fishing pole last year, but due to the weather he didn't get to try it out until this year. We had practiced in our front yard... casting over to the neighbors yard and reeling it in. He ended up catching FOUR fish! Now.. they were all small catfish... but FOUR fish!!!

This was the sunrise this morning when we left. It was REALLY cool seeing the steam coming off the water. The air temp was in the lower 50's.

We had an AWESOME visit and arrived home safely. We enjoyed catching up with Grandpa and Grandma, fishing, shelling, swimming, shopping, and much more! Kate even perfected her walking taking over 30 steps at one time! She's really taking off!

The Beach -- Day 5

The plan was that is was supposed to rain all day today. But it's the beach... it was GORGEOUS!!! We went down to the beach this morning. Then Grandma watched Kate (take a nap) while we headed to Foley. We found a REALLY cool minature train museum. We did a bit of shopping and ended our excusion at Lambert's.

What a beach baby! At one point kate tried eating shells. Of course she was most upset when i took them from her!

This minature train was donated to Foley from some man in Montgomery. In all it is worth $300,000. It is AWESOME! they even turned the lights out to show the night view. Signs and trains were all lit up. The museum opened about 3 years ago, and we highly recommend it. The best part is it's FREE!!!

There was a "Caboose Club" which decontructed it in Montgomery and then reconstructed it in Foley. The man in the bottom left was part of that group. He talked about how it took them a couple of days to deconstruct but took almost 14 months to put it back together!

Thomas was even there!!!

We always take our Christmas Pictures at the beach. The weather may turn colder tomorrow, so we wanted to get them in today. Kate was awake, happy, and ready to go! She is doing SO good at walking! Tonight she took over 30 steps!!! YEAH KATIE BUG!!!

Beach -- day 3 and 4

Here are pictures from day 3 and 4.

Grandpa and Eddie were making projects with Perler beads. Eddie made a monster and Grandpa made a heart.

Kate enjoyed eating sand!! She only started crying when I told her sternly to stop!

We have our own Katie in the Box! She climbed in the ottoman/ storage and played Jack in the Box.

Ta Da! How did I do?!

I was pretty impressed. This picture was taken from our condo with my zoom lens!! Grandma and Eddie are searching for shells.

Eddie got this cool game for his birthday. It's called Topple. Lots of fun!!

Today we went to watch the Blue Angels fly. Due to the chance of rain they did not fly, so we went to the museum instead.

The beach -- Day 2

We have been having a GREAT time! Today the weather is a little warm for my taste, but with the view WHO CARES!!! I took Eddie down this morning at sunrise to take his pictures. Kate and Daddy went for a walk while we were snapping pics and then we played some.

We had a blast at the shrimp festival yesterady. There were so many things for Eddie to do. It was fun!

Kate and Eddie were up bright and early, so I took Kate out for her 18 month pictures in the sunrise. (she's happier at sunrise than she is at sunset.)

Eddie's Birthday Party

We had Eddie's birthday party at the park today. It was such a beautiful day! It was

cloudy and started out about 70 degrees! Eddie wanted a "Bolt" party so we had to

handmake some of our decorations (Thanks Tricia!!!)

The kids are: Hunter (Pre-K), Kate, Kyle (Rex and Michelle), Ryan (Rex and Michelle),

Elizabeth (Pre-K), Malachi (Pre-K), Ann (Pre-K), Kyler (friend) and Eddie

Thomas and Drew (Eddie's friends) came after this pic and also Serena and Rose

(cousins).

We started the party with the kids playing at the park. We have a really cool park in

our neighborhood, so the kids had a fantastic time!

Hunter and Elizabeth from Eddie's Pre-K (I think this is right before Elizabeth fell... )

I had games planned for the kids to play. Some of them went over better than others.

Four and five year olds don't do real well when a person gets "out."

CUPCAKES!!!!

This is the dogbone I made for the

party. yes... I did make it! The ends have balloons in them. The kids all got about 5

turns to hit it but it was just made too well. Finally I spread the candy out and let the

kids get it.

Tristain loved swinging! (Tristain is Mandi's (Lyle's

Sister Pam's daughter) son. Behind him is Chris which is Mandi's brother. Chris did

a good job of wearing Tristain out!

Below are Kyle, Ryan and Rex Harding. Rex was best man in our wedding. Kyle is 2

months younger than Kate.

Craig (Thomas and Drew's Daddy) scored points with Eddie by doing "BLAST OFF!!"

We all had a GREAT time! When we got home it started sprinkling, so we had great

timing! Took a great nap and woke up just in time to see the FANTASTIC end to the

LSU game! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Happy 5th Birthday Eddie!!!!

Eddie's actual birthday was Wednesday. We had ice cream sandwiches at his school and then they got to play with bubbles to celebrate. He was so funny because he didn't wear his hat at school because he didn't like the paper clip, but when Daddy added tape he wouldn't take it off!

He was very excited because they have Chapel on Wednesday and the whole school sang happy birthday to him!!!

He got a lap desk with buckets on the sides filled with arts and crafts stuff. One of his favorites is the stained glass where he paints on the plastic. Watch out everyone, you may get one for Christmas!!!

Kate WAS NOT HAPPY! (which is so funny because she is wearing a shirt that says "never crabby" with a picture of a crab) She was throwing a good ole 18 month old temper tantrum.

Kate is getting better at walking. She has gotten so she can stand up in the middle of the room so that is helping too. She is 22 pounds 9 ounces and 29.5 inches.

Football season has arrived!!! Too bad it's arriving at 9:30 tonight for LSU, but it arrived!! We are playing Seattle, so it starts at 7:30 their time.

Kate has finally started taking steps on her own, 2 and 3 at a time pretty regularly, so we are very excited. You can tell she is getting her confidence up. Look at the top picture.. she has a perfect ringlet on the left side of her head. Her hair is SO curly!

Kate is ready to play powder-puff football! grrrrrrr!!!!!

Eddie's first day of School!!!

Today was Eddie's first day of school! He is in Pre-K at a private school that has 2yr olds through 6th grade. He was SO excited to start today! Monday we went to Meet his Teachers.

He is so lucky that he has 2 teachers!! He wore this shirt because once upon a time I told him that the symbol on the shirt meant that he was super smart.

The first day of school arrived!!!

I told him to turn sideways so I could see his backpack. hmmm....

In the car ready to go!!

Even mommy got into the pictures!!! He looks scared to death in this picture!!! After a few minutes he put his backpack down and went to get on the computer. I slipped out without tears (from Eddie or Mommy!!)

The day went well. He went round and round and round and round on the playground. This girl... MOMMY! "yes honey...?" this girl was turning us SUPER FAST!! SUPER DUPER FAST!!!

Did you learn today!? I learned the rules. Oh what are they? Don't throw toys and there's some more, but I don't remember them.

MOMMY! "yes Eddie" We get Stickers!!!... but I didn't get any. "oh really!?...." (thinking to myself... what did he do....?) But, no one got one Mommy. (Whew....)

You know what Mommy? "what Eddie" We went to Spanish today. What did you learn? Blue. (hmmm ok.)

Hey Mommy!!! You know that song that you taught me? (ok.. now I am a music teacher.. I REALLY hope htere is more than one that he knows!!!!) "which one?" ummmm... the bear hunt.

Sounds like it was a great 1st day!!!
